GUCC

Commodore Having been social sec last year she’s grasped onto the role of being the power woman of gucc. This gal is the most friendly and fun loving so if you have any questions or comments about the club she is the person to talk to. She also usually has a limitless supply of snacks so is a great friend to have. She loves the club so much and just wants everything to run smoothly this year and we are all sure she is going to excel in her role.

Secretary She’s gonna whip the committee into place! She’s probably the only sensible one in the club and always looks out for us. She tries her hardest to make us avoid doing dumb things so is a wonderful person to be around. She’s always got a glowing smile, but just ask her about green peppers if you ever want to wipe that smile clean off.

Treasurer Keeping our pennies safe is our treasurer Jessie. If you don’t pay her she might eat you but don’t worry she’s actually really friendly. She always has the most interesting stories and can keep us giggling for days. If you want to be her friend just lighten the mood with a couple memes and she’ll love you forever.

Competition Secretary Helping us win some trophies is our polo queen and comp sec kim. Her role is to organise all of the competitions in gucc. She is super keen for anything and is the most enthusiastic polo player we have in the club. If you fancy a chat hit her up she can chat about pretty much anything.

Trip Secretary Organising all of our trips and helping us shred the gnar is our wonderful trip sec Rebecca! She has been kayaking for years and promises to keep freshers safe on the river. She likes to show off her skills in her wee playboat because size doesn’t matter to her.

Social Secretary Keeping you entertained off the river is our social sec Hugh! Hugh is our sesh lord and will organise some super fun nights. He promises not to get too drunk to make sure his socials run smoothly (and promises not to lock another club out of his flat again soz aucc). He’s sassy and makes us laugh a lot. Sometimes we think he hates us but I’m sure he loves us really.

Publicity Convener Next up is Iona taking over as our publicity convenor. Her job it is to take care of all our social media and make us internet famous. We know our Instagram is in safe hands with this gal because she’ll only keep a picture up if reaches 60 likes or more. Some say Scottish river water runs through her veins, whilst others say it’s actually strawberry and lime cider. Either way she is a sender on and off the river so hit her up for a chat!!!

Development Secretary Another less than fresh fresher it's widely rumoured that wee John has been a part of gucc since the dawn of time. He's a great pal on and off the water and is sure to have everyone's coaching up to scratch in no time. Whilst he may be a great kayaking instructor it is advised that you should never follow a McGlinchey line down a river.

Welfare Officer She joined this year as a not so fresh fresher and has enlightened us with her positive energy. If you ever find yourself in an emergency when she is around never fear! Jenny always has a tin of emergency sardines ‘just in case.’ She also managed to put up with me in a tent for two weeks so creds to her.

Shipwright Stefan joined us this year as a fresher and this mysterious boy has given all his effort into polo giving a solid effort in sus and also managing to put up with John and Cameron for the day.

Shipwright She joined us this year as a keen fresher. Her love of boats attracted her to us. Did you know she worked on a sailing boat?! She also works in the pie shop providing delicious bakes after a day of kayaking.

Ordianary Member Next up is out not so ordinary member Jonny Byers who should get us kitted our with lovely gucc bobble hats. Johnny manages to balance his hectic medic timetable with spending time with his favourite club. He’s been in the club for a few years and is always up for a chat about boats or pretty much anything. He also loves a good night out so watch out for him shredding the gnar in viperrrr.
